Hello, I just ordered the Witty Pi 4 mini and am wondering how hard would it be for me to swap out the ultra-capacitor energy backup for the RTC with a pancake battery or similar.  The documentation indicates that the ultra-capacitor back-up time is less than 24 hrs.  I am hoping to have my system robust against months long power outages, and having something like a CR1220 or similar would allow that.  Can't wait to try this power control system out!

The simpliest way is to connect the battery between 3V3 and GND, and put a diode in serial, like this:

(Battery+) ---|>|--- 3V3

(Battery-) ----------- GND

This way your battery will not be drained when the device is powered. You can use the 3V3 pin in header P3, P4 or P5 (they are the same).
