Hello, I hope you are doing well.
I am currently working on an electronics project and I have a witty pi 4 and a raspberry b3+ at my disposal. I have a python script that runs and during the script, precisely at the end of the script, I tell the raspberry using the utilities.sh library of the witty pi to go to sleep with a function and to restart after a certain time DD HH MM SS ( set_startup_time $1 $2 $3 $4: to program the next reboot; sudo shutdown -h now: for it to stop).
So far I have only explained my project. The problem I am having is that the witty pi 4 remembers the reboot time, the raspberry goes into sleep mode. But then, when it goes into sleep; it does not turn back on and moreover I tell myself that the witty pi has also turned off
After several searches, I still have not had any answers; and so I would like you to help me
Hello, I hope you are well.
I am currently working on an electronics project and I have at my disposal a witty pi 4 and a raspberry b3+. I have a python script that runs and during the script, precisely at the end of the script, I tell the raspberry using the utility.sh library of the witty pi to go to sleep with a function and to restart after a certain time DD HH MM SS ( set_startup_time $1 $2 $3 $4 : to program the next reboot; sudo shutdown -h now : to make it stop).
So far I have only explained my project. The problem I have is that the witty pi 4 remembers the reboot time, the raspberry goes to sleep. But then, when it goes to sleep; it does not turn back on at the time indicated for its restart and moreover I tell myself that the witty pi also turns off because its white led no longer flashes to show that it is on.
After several searches, I still have not had any answers; and so I would like you to help me
@ornel What is the power source for your device? If you are using power bank, then it is possible that your power bank enters sleep mode and no longer power your Witty Pi. There are several discussions in this forum for similar situations.
Thank you for your answer.
However, I use a 12V and 7A battery. The witty pi 4 is connected directly to the battery through the DC 6V~30V mode (via XH2.54 connector) and the raspberry b3+ in turn is connected to the witty pi 4 through the ports.
To do this, I am surprised that such a battery is put into sleep mode.
Attached is a photo of the assembly.
@ornel battery like this will not go into sleep mode. The problem is something else.
witty pi 4 remembers the reboot time, the raspberry goes to sleep.
Do you confirm the red LED on Witty Pi 4 goes off, after your Raspberry Pi goes to sleep? If it does not, then the shutdown procedure is not finished yet and it will never "wake up".
