Hi,

I was wondering if it would be possible to run a Win32 executable on the Vivid Unit?
The reason is there is no Debian package for this Domestic tool.
So I know Wine is the "Windows Emulator" But I have not been successful in installing the Wine32 package on it :-/

If it is possible and you'd have a procedure or manual it would be very helpful 😉

Thanks!!

You can not just use Wine32 for this purpose -- wine doesn't emulate CPU: your Win32 executable asks for X86 CPU while Vivid Unit has an ARM one.

You will need an emulator to emulate X86 CPU. It should be feasible but I don't have experience on that.

A better way is to find suitable software that can run natively.

@admin Thanks for the reply!

Yeah it's smart home software which is 10y old and of which I have no idea if they ever built a Linux package I have informed after this but I'll look into the emulator thing
