I just got a Witty Pi 4 to power a Pi installed in a vehicle. I wired it up to the vehicle power (~ 12.8V to 14V depending on running).

It worked great for a few days and then failed. It looks like the MP4462 is kind of cooked. I can still power the witty from the USB connection but the XH2.54 is dead.

My understanding is the Witty Pi 4 should handle up to 30V on the XH2.54? Am I doing something incorrect or is this just random hardware failure?

Thanks!

MP4462 can actually handle up to 36V. The only possibility in my mind is you reversed the input voltage polarity.
